Chris Green
Chris has worked in technology for over 30 years, from developing software for the earliest personal computers through to management at the heart of Silicon Valley and global corporations.
In 2008 he founded Etherlive, an award-winning event technology company, delivering innovative technical services to outdoor and indoor events from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show through to Amex British Summertime in Hyde Park and the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. The company has helped re-shape technology aspects of events over the last 15 years.
Prior to forming Etherlive Chris was a senior manager at Intel Corporation, having started as an internet engineer in the mid-1990s at the start of the internet revolution. His career there saw him develop the concept of an ‘e-business portal’ which remained at the centre of Intel’s ebusiness strategy for over 15 years. From there he became a key member of Intel’s shared hosting division, providing cloud based computing to many dotcom companies during the first internet boom.
A versatile, senior business & IT professional with broad experience in a range of roles including company management, global team management, program management, IT strategy and technical architecture he is a board level presenter and negotiator with strong customer experience and an extensive track record of success.
He has expertise in all aspects of the project management lifecycle and strategy definition with over 25 years’ experience of IT management, including resource management & team building, performance management, team leadership, HR guidelines, training staff, account management, budget control and project delivery, backed with excellent technical knowledge in systems engineering & architecture, application development, operations and infrastructure.
Chris has been involved with several charities and community activities. For many years he supported Young Enterprise, developing and running a hands-on business simulation exercise in schools across the south west as well as being a director and trustee. He is a currently a trustee of Learning by Heart, a charity providing affordable online tutoring founded during the Covid pandemic. Chris is also a mentor on the University of Bath Gold Scholarship Programme and the Enterprise Bath scheme.
Chris holds a B.Eng. (Honours) degree in Electronic & Communication Engineering from the University of Bath, England. He is a member of the IET, IoD and the CMI.
